Product Description

Aluminium

Aluminium, as a non-combustible material, meets the requirements of building codes and European regulations.

Aluminium offers a rare combination of valuable properties. It is one of the lightest metals in the world. It is almost three times lighter than iron but it’s also very strong, extremely flexible and corrosion resistant when its surface is covered in an extremely thin and yet very strong layer of oxide film. It does not magnetise, has great electricity conductivity and forms alloys with practically all other metals.

When treated Aluminium does not rust, so offers a durable, extremely lightweight and strong finish. The flexible integrity of Aluminium does not diminish and quality finished. Aluminium can withstand all extremes of regional climate without being affected by temperature change or Ultra Violet light.

Technical features

  • Low density of aluminium makes it perfect product for wide range facades finishes
  • An excellent corrosion resistant layer of aluminium oxide forms almost instantaneously on the surface of aluminium.
  • Thermal Conductivity of aluminium is about three times greater than that of steel, vitally important for rapidly heating and cooling rainscreen cladding.
  • Simple to process aluminium is a flexible metal and can be formed into various shapes
  • Defined by BS476 part 4, aluminium alloys are non-combustible and achieves part 7 Surface Spread of Flame ‘Class 1’
  • Recycling, the recyclability of aluminium is unparalleled. When recycled there is no degradation in properties when recycled aluminium is compared to virgin aluminium. Furthermore, recycling of aluminium only requires around 5% of the input energy required to produce virgin aluminium metal.

Innovation of product

  • Non-combustible
  • Lightweight – three times lighter that iron
  • Durable – almost as much as steel
  • Ductile – Easy in processing
  • Corrosion-resistance -thin surface layer of aluminium oxide
